Zach Woodman, logger turned chainsaw artist, has the perfect life, but no one to share it with after the deaths of the women he loved. Fascinated by the sexually experienced yet naïve Bea, he promises himself he will end their hot relationship before fate takes another beautiful woman from the world.
But he discovers Bea has no idea how to have a relationship, and he is perplexed by her strange behavior, hippy mother, six fathers and her request to give him every man’s sex fantasy. It is only when he might lose her that he realizes he must make a decision that will break his heart either way.
My thoughts
Passion’s Poison is a hot and intriguing story that will
have your e-reader steaming. Don’t let the intense, intimate scenes convince
you this is all the story has to offer. Lexi Post added suspense and thrills that
will keep you up late trying to solve Beatrice’s issues. The multiple suspects keep you guessing and
you’ll be just as surprised as I was at the outcome.
Although the sexy scenes may bring a blush to your cheeks it
is done in a tasteful way. The growing intensity of Beatrice and Zack’s relationship
comes across in a natural progression so it won’t scare you off. Even with her curse,
Beatrice has come to cope with Zack being there to offer other options but will
Beatrice take this path offered or will she continue on the course she has set
for herself? Beatrice’s mother and grandmother play significant roles in the
book and make her character that much more relatable. Although the encounters
with them are spread throughout the story, they are important to understanding
the history of the curse.
Lexi Post does a terrific job tying in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s original story, Rappaccini’s
Daughter. The concept of using
generations stemming from Hawthorne’s original characters is a unique model
that Lexi Post has written to perfection. Passion’s Poison is a wonderful, hot
and captivating story that will surely have you up late.
