Excerpt
I parted my lips, and his tongue slipped inside. I moaned as I felt his tongue ring against my tongue. That damn thing was so fucking erotic. His hand went back to rubbing my hip as I ran my nails down his back. He pulled away and started kissing my neck before he moved toward my ear.
“What are we doing?” he whispered.
“Kissing,” I replied.
“We’re moving in another direction here, and I need to know if it’s okay. I’ll stop if it’s not.”
“I don’t want to stop,” I said and I meant it.
“Thank God,” he said. He started kissing my lips again. “If you told me to stop, I was going to go crazy. I want you so fucking bad.”
There were no words for a while after that. After he pulled off my shirt and tossed it aside, his hands roamed across my body. I sucked in a deep breath when he flicked his tongue across my nipple. He took his time exploring my body with his mouth before he found my breast again. I dug my nails into his back as he started sucking and biting. He released my nipple and started kissing down my stomach.
My Thoughts
Tainted by K.A. Robinson is the
third installment in the Torn series and is unique as it is written into three
parts. At first I was questioning wether or not I would like this, but I can, with out a doubt, tell you I loved this
writting style. Having the story broken down in different times but also the
different points of view made me feel like I was getting this closer view I
didn't even know I needed from Drake and Chloe.
Since the story is told in three parts it only seemed right to give each
section it's own mini review.
The first part, Facing My Demons is from Drake's point
of view. Reading the emotions and the anguish he went through made me want to
cry for him, punch in the face to straighten him up and then get him ice and
hug him to make him feel better. As Drake goes through his ups and downs we are
right there with him and K.A Robinson does a great job making the reader feel
what he is feeling. When you know one side of the story you can't help but go
into this with preconcieved notions, but once this part was done I realized the
undeniable truth behind the saying: “there are two sides to every story”.
Learning
to Love again is the second part and is told from Chole's point of view. Now the
time is three months after her and Drake reconcile. This was the part that
Chole really makes her transformation into maturity and knowing what she wants
out of life. She is learning to trust Drake again and figuring out how to have
a future together. For me, this was the most emotional since I felt the same
sense of relief and happiness that the characters had come to find.
The third section is New Begginings which is the extended epilogue. This section will
remain a secret since it now takes us into the future but let's just say you
will not be disappointed.
Overall this is a fantastic
third book and I felt did a great job tying everything together. I will say Tainted is an extremely emotional story
since it takes you from one end of the spectrum to the other. There are times
where I felt anger, grief and anxiety but at the same time compassion, joy and
love. I would make sure you add the Torn series to your library and keep an
eye out for other works from K.A Robinson since I am sure this will not be the
last we see of Drake and Chloe.
