My Thoughts
If you’re a fan of
short stories than Once Upon a Weekend
is the hidden gem you’ve been looking for. Tina Swayzee does a great job
putting a modern twist on the classic story of Rapunzel. Instead of the heroine letting her hair down,
it is the hero who is trying to keep his golden locks from harm. Hannah
Lawrence and Tate Browning are brought together under some extenuating
circumstances and are forced to spend the weekend together. While the two work
to get Tate’s sister and Hannah’s boss, Kate, salon ready for the grand
opening, some things go unplanned and now the two have to team up to fix it. Once Upon a Weekend is a fun, flirty and
fantastic tale with the happily ever after we all want when it comes to love
stories. Most short story readers would agree, some elements tend to just pop
up, and in some situations, and this rang true in Once Upon a Weekend. But, this is the element that also makes the
story great since the plot line moves along in a quick, tit for tat manner. Once Upon a Weekend is a great read for
those who love modern and magical twists on classic fairy tales.
