Synopsis

My Thoughts

From the writing style, to the details that add dimension, this is a piece of literary genius.  Clipped Wings by Helena Hunting completely blew me away.  This is the type of book we have been missing in the reading world. Helena developed so many different issues brooding on the sidelines that any one of them could explode at a moments notice. This suspense kept me glued to each page, but it was the broken path that Hayden and Tenley found each other on that kept my focus. 

                Having already met Hayden and Tenley in the prequel, Cupcakes & Ink we already know some background to their lives. However, Cupcakes and Ink is just the icing to the monstrous piece that we get in Clipped Wings. One concept of that story that drew me in was that both Hayden and Tenley have these complex pasts that each are trying to deal with in their own ways and ultimately their pasts are what bound them together. Don't think for one second this book is all about the sad stuff and you will need a box of tissues. Helena Hunting gives a whole new meaning to 'you shouldn't play with your food'. Tenley is as obsessed with baking as Hayden is with cupcakes. Tenley's innocent seduction with legwarmers, shorts and an apron make for some spicy but sweet scenes that will leave you salivating. After you read Clipped Wings you will never look at cupcakes the same ever again and for that I thank you Helena.

Along with some sexy cupcake baking and intimate tattoo sessions Clipped Wings is a must read due to Hayden finding a place at the top of my book boyfriend list. Since there are two more books to come out I think he will reign for a long time to come. So ladies, grab a cupcake, a glass of wine and throw on some leg warmers as you sit down to enjoy Clipped Wings. But, be prepared, the sequel Inked Armour does not come out till May so you may need to reread this one a few times to fulfill your Hayden craving.
